Wide-band frequency selection
Select frequencies within 2–100 kHz to help distinguish target sources from background noise.Leak analysis
Leak detection and loss estimates support maintenance prioritization when combined with site pressure and operating conditions.Partial-discharge analysis
PRPD analysis and tip, surface, floating-discharge and noise classifications support subsequent diagnosis.VS138XH inspection capabilities
VS138XH combines acoustic imaging, thermal imaging, a visible camera and laser ranging in a handheld instrument. Its 138 MEMS microphones cover 2–100 kHz and overlay leak or discharge sound sources on the scene. A 640 × 512 infrared detector adds temperature-distribution information for inspection from both acoustic and thermal perspectives.
The instrument supports leak analysis, PRPD partial-discharge analysis, frequency and time-frequency analysis, photos, video and multiple annotation types. Point, line, region and temperature-difference tools help review thermal anomalies alongside sound maps, distance and operating conditions.

Designed for real inspection work
The capabilities that matter in the field are brought together in one inspection platform.
138-channel acoustic array
An array of 138 MEMS microphones acquires acoustic signals and overlays source locations on the visible image.
Wide-band frequency selection
Select frequencies within 2–100 kHz to help distinguish target sources from background noise.
Leak analysis
Leak detection and loss estimates support maintenance prioritization when combined with site pressure and operating conditions.
Partial-discharge analysis
PRPD analysis and tip, surface, floating-discharge and noise classifications support subsequent diagnosis.
Laser distance measurement
An integrated 0.1–20 m laser rangefinder records target distance and supports inspection setup.
On-device review and reporting
Review acoustic data, photos and video and prepare inspection reports on the device, including offline use.
Multiple annotation types
Add text, voice, image and tag annotations to associate findings with equipment and location.
Wireless connectivity and power
Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB support connectivity, with Type-C PD and dock charging.
Integrated thermal imaging
A 640 × 512 infrared detector supports point, line, region and temperature-difference analysis with temperature alarms.
Typical applications
Compressed-air leaks
Locate ultrasonic leak sources at fittings, hoses, valves and pipes, then document conditions before and after repair.
Electrical partial discharge
Localize acoustic emissions around switchgear, insulation and connections, using PRPD information for further review.
Petrochemical and process facilities
Inspect valves, flanges and accessible pipelines for leak sound sources and correlate findings with operating conditions.
Mechanical noise investigation
Use sound-map overlays to locate abnormal noise regions and save records for subsequent analysis.
A complete workflow from access to decision
Confirm target and distance
Select band and scan
Locate and review the source
Save images and annotations
Recheck after maintenance
Technical Specifications
Detection distance and minimum detectable leakage depend on pressure, distance, source spectrum and background noise. Accuracy values apply to the listed test conditions. Correlate sound localization, PRPD classification and thermal anomalies with equipment condition.
